KELLY Morgan says that she cannot overlook Bulgarian veteran Borislava Goranova with a world title shot in the offing.
The 36-year-old WBC Silver middleweight champion heads to Bournemouth on Friday night for her fifth professional contest in what is likely to be her last in the UK for sometime.
Talks have been ongoing with WBC super-middleweight world champion Nikki Adler about a fight later this autumn but Morgan knows that she cannot overlook the 38-year-old from Sofia before then.
“Borislava has had 56 professional fights so she is no mug,” Morgan told the Advertiser.
“I should be able to get some good experience from her. No matter what happens, I am going to learn.
“Training, as always, has been another tough camp. I have had additional training to try and bulk up a little bit in preparation for Nikki as well, without going over middleweight because I have got this fight.
“It has been a bit of a balancing act and it has been pretty full on with training and nutrition.
“Rather than weighing in at 155lbs, I am now up to a true middleweight at 160lbs, which is where we wanted to be for this fight, ready to make the next step up as soon as this fight is over to super-middle.
“With these additional goals for the long-term plan, it has been really quite taxing.
“At the end of the day, it can be as hard as it likes as long as we get there and we are there and I am ready to go.”
Tickets are still available, contact Kelly through her Facebook page for info.
